World Theater Day by Prof. Talal Darjani Abril 2021 Archivo - Archive Noticias - News 10 de abril de 2021 Prof Talal Darjani Lebanese Stage Director, Scenographer, Academic Professor, Researcher, Theatre Thinker, President of «The Other Theater» cultural and artistic association. e-mail: talal.darjani@hotmail.com World Theater Day, March 27 th 2021 Vision History asks every intellectual whose shadow passes by the backstages or the auditorium : What did you do in order for the play to be a permanent innovation for human thought’s evolution? The play’s objectives are discussed in the future, through the present and the past, and from the core of the delightful difficulties of the artistic workshops. Valuable artistic work is born and then established as a creative curriculum that becomes academic on which the foundations of aesthetics and cognitive thought are built until awareness crystallizes in developing the artistic and social personality. As for the results of these discoveries, they become a museum for both of researchers and the public, and a literary reference for future History. Creativity begins in the very the moment the writer reaches the seed of the text, and continues when he cultivates it in his rare and special soil that is governed by a literary sun that is not artificial and irrigated by artistic waters that are not forged, that are not corrupt , and then a classic contemporary text is born, an authentic text that is impervious to being swept away by the flood of artistic ignorance or commercial consumption based on the licentious demands of the of the Global and local market. These are the scripts that the inventive director chooses, the one who’s armed with a solid philosophical background and a high intellectual culture supported by his unlimited energy to feel and his deep sense of the essence of mankind and humanity, based on his global artistic vision. It is also important for the director to be aware of all the subtle details of life, and aware of how to dissect and analyze the play’s components and reconstruct them with his own vision on the basis of the writer’s world and the methods of developing it on stage. Only then does the show achieve dazzling aesthetics at each of its moments, the most prominent of which are: touching the human pain, which is reflected in the audience’s muffled breath, through an unmatched joy in the pleasure of concentration and inner silence, of mental meditation, simultaneous collective breathing, and other pleasures, as if happiness was discovered by the audience and the artists at the same moment, when the unexpected applause explodes from the auditorium and from the bodies of the actors together, as intellectuals trace, unconsciously, on the walls and doors of theaters, true pioneering achievements. Thus, Artistic History is engraved to the rhythm of the performance music, inside and outside the theater space. As for the actor, as well as for all the participating creative people, if not everyone of them brought something new in every rehearsal and through the directorial vision, failure may be inevitable. However, witty director who is skilled in evaluating all the details of his tools, knows how to obviate very early and before others, any possible disaster. He searches for scientific solutions in academic curricula to save himself, his entire team of creators, and the whole theatrical show. The moment happiness is integrated with the joy of success, the play becomes a global celebration and an Honorable Decoration away from pre-cooked corrupt festivals. Therefore, the creative thinker, rising from the core of his environment, reserves his place in the world stage’s «Dictionary». «To be or not to be» within the global theater space, this depends on what is new in every play, provided that this «new» should be a reference for various researches with all its components and subtle details, from the box office until the audience leaves the auditorium. This education may seem expensive and tiring, but it is the way for the creation of a distinct artistic civilization of theater’s evolution, a sort of Theatre that keeps pace with global cultures, competes with them and adds to them, competes with international works, a theater that converges into the sea of legendary theatrical performances that mark History and do not disappear.
