Lebanon, 18 May.- The Lebanese theatrical director and scholar, Professor Talal Darjani, founder and president of the Actor Academy and scientific director of the LIRIS laboratory for the Middle East and North Africa region for Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris, has accepted an invitation from the Russian Ministry of Culture and the administration of the management of the International Theater Festival at the A.A. Bryantsev Theater for Young Spectators.

He will attend the 25th session of the festival in St. Petersburg from May 22 to 30, 2024. During the festival, Professor Darjani will present and discuss excerpts from his theatrical works in the presence of young and veteran international artists, researchers, critics, and academics.

Additionally, he will conduct a workshop on theatrical directing, script preparation, actor direction, and the creation and use of scenography, based on the methodologies of Stanislavsky and Meyerhold. This workshop will be part of a broader discussion on «the role and importance of directing techniques in developing Lebanese and Arab theatre.»
