Mr. Boyan Belev the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Lebanon, signed a Grant Agreement with the Gibran National Committee that is based in Beirut to launch a project entitled: “Khalil Gibran’s Legacy for Cultural Sustainability”. The event took place at the Gibran Museum in Becharre on December 16, 2021, challenging the cold and stormy weather at an altitude of about 1,550 m. The project is worth BGN 30 000, It aims to restore and transfer Gibran’s books into a digital format to preserve the great writer, poet, and philosopher’s rich legacy. The diplomats who accompanied the Ambassador from the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Beirut are Mr. Vihren Nikolov, Mr. Ivaylo Christov, and Ms. Alexandrina Guigova. Mayor of Becharre Mr. Freddi Keyrouz was there too with the president of the Gibran National Committee Joseph Fenianos and committee members, in addition to the Gibran Museum Director Mr. Joseph Geagea, and his Bulgarian spouse Mrs. Sophia Geagea, who launched the project at the first sight. It is worth mentioning that the Bulgarians toured the Museum and attended a cocktail upon the agreement signature. At a later stage, Bulgarian experts will arrive in Beirut to start the execution.
